Dhaka, Oct. 9 -- The government has appointed Gias Uddin as the Prime Minister's Special Assistant with the rank of secretary on a contractual basis.

He will serve as the Prime Minister's Special Assistant in charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday.

According to the notification, Gias Uddin has been appointed on the condition that he relinquishes any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation.
