Cumilla, March 25 -- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 arrested a railway gatekeeper on Tuesday evening in connection with the deadly bus-train collision that killed 12 people in Cumilla.

The accused, Helal, was arrested from the Shankuchail area of Burichang upazila by a team from RAB-11, Company-2.

The accident occurred around 3:00am on Saturday at Paduar Bazar level crossing on the Dhaka-Chattogram railway route.

Earlier on Monday, Laksham Railway Police Station filed a case over the accident naming the gatekeeper and his assistant as accused.

RAB Cumilla Inspector Firoz Kabir said a press briefing will be held on Wednesday at the RAB office in Cumilla regarding the arrest.
