Gaibandha, Aug. 28 -- Police recovered the hanging body of a schoolteacher from a banana orchard in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha on Friday, two days after his marriage.

The deceased was identified as Md Abu Salem, an assistant teacher at Unique International School at Baluwahat in Katakhali.

According to locals, Salem married Shyamoli Akter of Bagda Bazar area under Katabari union on the night of August 26.

He left home for Balua Bazar on Thursday morning. As he did not return home by evening, his relatives began searching for him in different places but could not find him.

On Friday noon, locals spotted his body hanging from a tree in a banana orchard in the area and informed his relatives, who alerted police.
