Chattogram, Sept. 13 -- Four people, including a woman, were killed and six others injured in a collision between a covered van and a microbus in the College Bazar area of Karnaphuli upazila early Sunday.

One of the deceased was identified as Md Hasan, 38, son of Mostaque Ahmed of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila. The identities of the other victims could not be known yet.

According to witnesses, the covered van, coming from the Shah Amanat Bridge, was making a U-turn at high speed in the College Bazar area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway when it collided with the microbus travelling from Ukhiya towards Chattogram around 1:20am.

The accident left two people dead on the spot and eight others injured, police said.
