MUNSHIGANJ, Sept. 19 -- Four people were killed and another was critically injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a private car in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj on Saturday.

The deceased were not immediately identified, but they were all confirmed to be in the car.

The accident occurred around 2:38pm near Jamaldi Bus Stand on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.

Police said the "New Baleshwar" bus was heading to Chattogram from Dhaka when it collided with the private car, which was returning to Dhaka after a lunch trip to Miami Restaurant.

The car had travelled some distance on the wrong side before attempting a U-turn. The bus hit the car and overturned on the road median, while the car was badly damaged.
