Bogura, March 9 -- A court in Bogura on Monday sent the former officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahjahanpur Police Station to jail in an extortion case filed by a BNP leader.

Judge Abuhena Siddiqui of Bogura Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-3 passed the order after a hearing in the afternoon.

Former OC Alamgir Hossain appeared before the court in connection with a case filed in 2016 on charges of extorting Tk 5 lakh from BNP leader Fazlul Haque Ujjal by threatening him with "crossfire".
