, March 26 -- Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained former DG of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Lieutenant General (retd.) Sheikh Mamun Khaled from the capital's Mirpur area late Wednesday night.

DMP Additional Commissioner and DB Chief Shafiqul Islam said tipped off, he was detained during a raid at a house at Mirpur in the city.

He said he is an accused in several cases including a case filed with Mirpur Police Station in connection with the July-August 2024 movement.

It has not yet been decided under which case the DGFI chief will be shown arrested, he said .
