Lalmonirhat, Aug. 7 -- Flooding triggered by a rise in water level of the Teesta River has washed away a section of a regional road in Dahagram union of Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat, disrupting communication for thousands of residents.

The flash flood inundated around 10 localities in the union, affecting nearly 3,000 families.

Gushing floodwater damaged a section of the road on Thursday night, allowing water to enter nearby settlements and severing road communication.

Locals said the Teesta water rose by around 2-3 feet from Wednesday evening, flooding several villages of wards 1, 2 and 3 of Dahagram union.
