Sangsad Bhaban, March 12 -- Five parliamentary committees, including the Business Advisory Committee, were formed on the first day of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed announced the formation of the Business Advisory Committee and the House Committee during the sitting, while Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni proposed the names for three other committees.

Opposition MPs stage walkout during President's speech

The proposals for the Special Committee, the Committee on Privileges and the Committee on Private Members' Bills and Resolutions were later approved by voice vote of the House.

The committees were constituted during the sitting of parliament presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
