Savar, Sept. 20 -- At least five people suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a garment factory of Preeti Group in Ashulia of Savar on Sunday evening.

Harun-or-Rashid, manager of Ashulia Women and Children Hospital, said five burn victims had been admitted to the hospital so far.

Three of them, who suffered severe burns to different parts of their bodies, were in critical condition and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment, he said.

Hemayet, an administrative officer of Preeti Group's F&F factory, said no workers were trapped inside the facility.

He said it was not immediately clear whether the fire originated from a boiler or a gas cylinder.
