Bogura, Feb. 15 -- A firefighter was killed after a bus ploughed through a fire station while he was on duty in Sherpur upazila of Bogura district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Md Ahsan Habib, a firefighter posted at Sherpur Fire Station.

Witnesses said after receiving a report of a road accident he rang the fire alarm and opened the main gate to allow a fire service unit to respond.

As he was stopping a truck on the road to ensure the safe exit of the fire service vehicle a bus from behind hit the truck that ploughed into the fire station, leaving Habib injured.
