Fire at Satkhira private hospital under control
Satkhira, Aug. 4 -- The fire which broke out at a private hospital in Satkhira district town on Tuesday was brought under control after about one and a half hours of efforts.
The fire originated from an oxygen line on the ground floor of Bliss Hospital at around 1:30 pm, triggering panic among patients, attendants and hospital staff as smoke spread through the building.
On information, two units of the Satkhira Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze, said Saifuzzaman, deputy assistant director of the Fire Service.
The fire was brought under control at around 3:00 pm after nearly 90 minutes of operation, he said.
