Dhaka, July 25 -- A fire that broke out at a garbage dump near Gate No. 8 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday night has been brought under control.

Warehouses Inspector Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell said the fire was reported at around 9:20pm.

He said two units of the Airport Fire Service reached the spot within three minutes of receiving the information and started efforts to douse the blaze.

The fire is now under control, he said, adding that no casualties were reported in the incident.
