Dhaka, Oct. 2 -- A case has been filed against Major (retd) Akhtaruzzaman, a former lawmaker, on charges of obstructing government duties, creating disorder at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and assaulting a security official.

Airport security officer Md Shahriar Alam Sajib filed the case with Airport Police Station on Friday under several sections of the Code of Criminal Procedure, an official said.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident took place around 10:40am on Thursday after passengers of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG-338) arriving from Madina faced a shortage of trolleys and delays in collecting their baggage at No. 8 baggage belt amid heavy passenger pressure.
