Dhaka, Sept. 14 -- An electrician died after being electrocuted while working at an auto-rickshaw garage in the capital's Kadamtali area on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Shikdar,41, son of late Iskindar Shikdar of Rajoir upazila in Madaripur district. He was currently residing in Purba Jurain, Kadamtali.

According to his brother Sajal, Jahangir sustained severe injuries from an electric shock at around 6:30 p.m. while carrying out electrical work at Sikdar Auto-rickshaw Garage on College Road in Purba Jurain.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious state, where the attending doctor at the emergency department declared him dead at around 7:20 p.m..
