, Sept. 1 -- The Dhaka University syndicate has declared Md Rashed Khan the general secretary (GS) of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) from the 2019 election, revoking the election of then Bangladesh Chhatra League secretary Golam Rabbani to the post.

The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting held on Monday night, the university's acting registrar confirmed.

Rashed Khan was the second-highest vote-getter in the 2019 DUCSU election.

Earlier, Dhaka University formed a probe committee following allegations over Rabbani's studentship. Based on the committee's recommendations and a subsequent decision of the Academic Council, his MPhil studentship was found to be illegal, according to a university source.
