, May 10 -- Professor Saifuddin Ahmad has resigned from the post of Proctor of Dhaka University.

Prof Saifuddin told UNB that he said he has already submitted his resignation letter to the Vice-Chancellor.

He said the university is now in a stable condition and considerable work has been completed during his 20-month tenure.

He also expressed his intention to return to academic life and spend more time with students.

"I have missed my students a lot. I want to return to them and resume regular classes," he added.
