Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday formally handed over all student data and records of the seven government colleges to Dhaka Central University (DCU), paving the way for the new university to accelerate its academic activities.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A B M Obaidul Islam handed over the records to DCU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Lutfor Rahaman at a ceremony held at the DU Vice-Chancellor's conference room in the morning.

Speaking at the event, the DU Vice-Chancellor wished the students of DCU success in their academic pursuits.

He said the formal transfer of student data would help speed up the academic activities of the newly established university.
