, Sept. 22 -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is set to begin disbursing Tk 37.60 crore in compensation to 17,332 aggrieved investors of five defaulted brokerage houses from its Investor Protection Fund.

DSE Chairman Mominul Islam disclosed this at a press conference held at the DSE Tower in Dhaka's Nikunja on Tuesday.

The disbursement will commence on September 28.

The affected investors are clients of five brokerage firms: Mashiur Securities, Tamha Securities, Crest Securities, Shah Mohammad Sagir & Co. Ltd., and Banco Securities.

According to DSE data, the total amount of misappropriated funds exceed Tk 250 crore.
