Dhaka, Oct. 5 -- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has designated limited vending zones for hawkers and warned that those returning to unauthorised roads or footpaths will face confiscation of goods and legal action, Administrator Abdus Salam said on Monday.

"Except Friday-Saturday, when we have designated some roads for holiday markets, no hawker will be allowed on any road," he said while speaking to journalists after inspecting the area in front of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

He said the corporation had held several meetings with leaders of all major hawker organisations before finalising the arrangements.
