Dhaka, May 25 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday warned city residents not to fall victim to fraudulent SMS messages circulating on social media platforms that falsely claim to be related to traffic fines imposed by the DMP's Traffic Division.

The messages are entirely fake and urged citizens not to be misled or defrauded by such communication, it said.

DMP 's Media and Public relations division issued a press release in this regard.

The Traffic Division clarified that traffic cases filed under the Road Transport Act, 2018 through its AI and video surveillance system are processed through official procedures.
