Dhaka, July 17 -- Dhaka North City Corporation and Gulshan Society jointly started a month-long dengue awareness and prevention programme from Friday.

The programme was officially launched in the afternoon at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park in Gulshan, said a media statement.

The organisers said that as part of this month-long programme, they will run an awareness campaign in every educational institution, mosque, neighborhood and slum area.

They will also distribute banners, posters and leaflets.

Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat said there are mosquitoes everywhere in the world. But nowhere else do so many people die from mosquito bites as in our country.
