, July 2 -- Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 2,104 cases against motorists for violating traffic rules during drives conducted in different parts of the capital in 24 hours till Wednesday evening, said a press release issued by DMP.

According to the DMP Traffic Division, the highest number of cases, 552, was filed in the Wari Traffic Division, followed by 415 in Uttara, 284 in Motijheel, 222 in Gulshan, 202 in Mirpur, 176 in Tejgaon, 160 in Lalbagh and 91 in Ramna.

The drives targeted various types of vehicles, including buses, trucks, covered vans, CNG-run auto-rickshaws and motorcycles found violating traffic regulations.
