Dengue deaths hit year's high with 10 fatalities
Dhaka, Oct. 6 -- Bangladesh recorded its highest single-day dengue death toll this year on Tuesday, with 10 people succumbing to the mosquito-borne disease in the past 24 hours.
With the latest fatalities, the dengue death tally has risen to 281 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the 10 new deaths, three were reported in Khulna division, two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), two in Barishal division, and one was recorded each in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Dhaka division and Rajshahi division.
Men accounted for 47.7 percent of the total deaths, while women accounted for 52.3 percent.
