Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- Two people died of dengue and 671 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Wednesday.

With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 76 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new deaths were reported in Dhaka and Khulna divisions, it said.

Currently, 1,822 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 26,272 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

Of them, 24,374 have recovered and been discharged during this period.
