, June 2 -- The New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) at Chittagong Port has recorded its highest-ever monthly container handling volume in May, setting a significant benchmark in the port's operational history.

In May, the terminal handled a total of 1,26,496 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of containers, the highest monthly volume ever recorded at the facility, said Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) on Tuesday.

According to port officials, the previous record was set in October 2025 when the terminal handled 1,25,533 TEUs. The latest figure has surpassed that benchmark.
