Committed to working with Bangladesh: UK
Dhaka, July 15 -- British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke on Wednesday said the United Kingdom (UK) remains committed to working with Bangladesh to help communities prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters, while strengthening long-term climate resilience.
The UK government is providing £355,000 or approximately Tk 5.7 crore in life-saving humanitarian assistance to support more than 55,000 people affected by flooding in Southeast and Northeast Bangladesh.
British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke said the UK stands with the people of Bangladesh affected by these devastating floods.
