Dhaka, April 17 -- Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman.

In a condolence message on Friday, he said Mahbubur Rahman was a skilled, honest and dedicated officer. "His professionalism, sense of responsibility, and integrity made significant contributions to the activities of the commerce ministry."

With his untimely death, the country has lost an experienced administrator - a loss that will be difficult to fill, the minister said.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
