, Aug. 29 -- Police recovered the hanging body of a college student from a house in the South Kacharipara area of Jamalpur district town on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Israt Jahan Rima, 25, a 4th year honours student at Jamalpur Government Ashraf Mahmud College and daughter of Rashidullah Mondal of Balijuri village in Madarganj upazila.

After receiving a call through the national emergency service number 999, police recovered the body hanging from a ceiling fan after they broke open the door of the room, said Md Nazmus Sakib, officer-in-charge of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station.

The body was later sent to the Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
