, Sept. 28 -- Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Monday paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister's Office at Secretariat.

"It was a farewell meeting," said Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu).

"During the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman laid emphasis on further expanding trade, investment and development cooperation between the two countries, as well as issues of mutual interest, including the Rohingya crisis," Hasan Shiplu said.

Ambassador Yao Wen said China's support for Bangladesh's development efforts would continue.

He also expressed hope that relations between the two countries would be strengthened further.
