Gopalganj, April 24 -- year-old child was killed and five others injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a battery-run easy-bike in Gopalganj on Friday.

The accident occurred around noon at Fakirkandi area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway under Gopalganj Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Samiul Alim Mollah, 3, son of Yasin Mollah of Malenga village in the upazila.

Md Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, said an easy-bike was travelling from Gopalganj town towards Arpara on the outskirts carrying passengers. When the vehicle was taking a turn at Fakirkandi, it was hit by an Imad Paribahan passenger bus coming from Dhaka.
