Chief whip says influential quarters back teen gangs, vows crackdown
Dhaka, Oct. 2 -- Influential quarters are backing teen gangs, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni said on Friday, vowing to uproot their activities within three months.
"Influential quarters are directly backing the teenage gangs. Their activities will be completely eradicated within the next three months," he said, according to a press release.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a shadow parliament session titled 'Social Movement is More Effective than Political Goodwill in Preventing Teen Gangs' arranged by 'Debate for Democracy' at the FDC in the capital.
