Central Police Hospital performs first successful coronary angioplasty
Dhaka, July 5 -- The Central Police Hospital has successfully performed its first-ever percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), commonly known as coronary angioplasty, marking a historic milestone for the institution since its establishment in 1954.
The procedure was carried out at the hospital's cardiac catheterisation (Cath) Lab on a member of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division.
The angioplasty was performed by cardiology specialists of the Central Police Hospital under the leadership of Prof Dr Abdul Wadud Chowdhury, director of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Hospital.
The patient is currently under close observation at the hospital's Coronary Care Unit (CCU), and his condition is stable....
