Dhaka, Aug. 24 -- The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Monday approved a Tk 7.08 crore price variation proposal for the construction of the 121-metre Vellapara Bridge over Murai Khal on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Cox's Bazar-Teknaf national highway.

The approval came at a meeting of the CCGP held at the Secretariat with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.

According to the proposal, the Roads and Highways Department is implementing the bridge construction project under government financing through the Chattogram South Road Division.

The original contract for the construction of the 1X121-metre Vellapara Bridge, including approach roads, was awarded at a cost of Tk 48 crore.
