Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved awarding of contracts worth around Tk 383.84 crore for two road improvement and construction works in Bandarban under a World Bank co-financed project.

The recommendations were made at a CCGP meeting held on Wednesday, with the proposals submitted by the Road Transport and Highways Division. Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury presided over the meeting at Bangladesh Secretariat.

The committee recommended awarding a contract worth Tk 190 crore to National Development Engineers Ltd for improvement of the Aziznagar-Naziram Tripura Para Road (Z-1007) through widening and strengthening of the existing pavement.
