, June 26 -- A case has been filed on Friday over the brutal killing of four members of a family in Lakshmipur's Raipur municipality, while questions remain over the motive behind the attack and whether others were involved in the incident.

The son of the deceased woman filed a case with Raipur Police Station in connection with the murders.

The alleged attacker, identified as Antar Majumder, 28, was later beaten to death by an angry mob.

No case has yet been filed over the death of Antar, although police said preparations are underway to do so.

The victims - a mother and her three daughters were hacked to death at their residence in a busy area of the municipal town on Thursday.
