, Aug. 31 -- A meeting of the Cabinet began at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in the chair.

The meeting started around 5:30pm at the Cabinet Room of the Secretariat, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister's Office.

Ministers and senior officials concerned are attending the meeting.

A number of important policy and administrative issues are expected to be discussed at the meeting.

A press briefing on the decisions taken at the meeting is scheduled for 7:00pm in the Press Information Department conference room.
