Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved a proposal to purchase nine cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Trafigura Pte Ltd under a government-to-government (G2G) arrangement from December 2026 to December 2027.

The committee recommended the purchase at a price of JKM minus US$0.10 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).

The number of cargoes may be increased or reduced by mutual consent between the two parties, if necessary.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury presided over the meeting, which gave the approval.

The proposal was placed by the Ministry of Agriculture, according to the decision.
