Dhaka, May 3 -- Kazi Emdadul Hoque, a prominent researcher, author, and former tax commissioner, has been appointed as the Director General of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
A seasoned official of the 7th batch of the BCS (Tax) cadre, Huqe joined his new post on Sunday (May 3). The appointment has been made on a contractual basis with the rank and status of a Senior Secretary to the government.
He succeeds at the helm of the national standards body following a distinguished three-decade career in the country's revenue administration.
