, March 4 -- Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) Dr. Shawkat Ali on Tuesday, was temporarily blocked by students after the university's mass iftar event failed to provide meals to several attendees. He later apologized to the students and was allowed to leave.
The university administration had organized the iftar for about 7,500 people, including teachers, students, and staff, at the central football ground. However, due to insufficient food supply, hundreds of students could not receive their iftar despite holding tokens. Some students also complained that portions that were distributed smelled spoiled.
