Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- A newly paved road in Ahalia adjacent to the playground in Sector 14 of Uttara was dug up again on Wednesday, just a day after the final asphalt work was completed, following foul-smelling water seeping through the fresh surface.

Locals said the road had been under renovation for around four to five months. The final layer of asphalt was laid on Monday night.

But by Tuesday morning, residents noticed foul-smelling water emerging through the newly paved road, apparently due to problems with the drainage work.
