Savar, Aug. 12 -- Police recovered a bomb wrapped in a pressure cooker with scotch tape from a field in Savar's Sadhapur area early Wednesday and later it was safely defused by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) bomb disposal unit.

Police and locals said the suspicious object was found inside a blue plastic drum at Ghora Mosque field around 1:30am.

The drum also contained some cloths and a copy of the Quran.

Savar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Imran Hossain said they initially suspected that the object could be a bomb.

Locals removed the pressure cooker from the drum, placed it in the field and informed police.

Some residents said three unidentified people left the drum at the mosque field at night.
