Chandpur, Sept. 26 -- The body of a man who went missing after falling into the Meghna River while getting off a launch at Shatnal launch terminal in Matlab Uttar upazila was recovered on Saturday, a day after the incident.

The deceased was identified as Md Robin, 36, son of Haider Ali of Premtala village in Naria upazila of Shariatpur.

Mozammel Haque PPM, in-charge of Beltali Naval Police said the body was recovered from beneath the jetty around 2:30pm.

Members of the Chandpur district diving team recovered the body from underneath the jetty, he said.

The body was later sent to the morgue of Chandpur General Hospital for autopsy, the police official added.
