Dhaka, July 12 -- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) National Standing Committee has decided to make the party's activities more active and instructed all units, including affiliated organisations, to take necessary steps in this regard.

The meeting also discussed holding elections at different levels of local government and urged party units to strengthen organisational activities. It decided to arrange a meeting of the National Executive Committee as soon as possible and assigned BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to take necessary measures.

The decisions were disclosed in a press release signed by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who is also the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister.
