, Oct. 8 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday night condemned the killing of Bagerhat journalist SM Hayat Uddin, saying that a group of miscreants are once again trying to create instability and anarchy in the country for their own benefit.

"After the fall of the Awami autocratic regime through the student-led movement, miscreants have once again engaged in evil attempts to create instability and anarchy in the country for their own gains," he said.

In a condolence message, Fakhrul said the brutal and barbaric killing of journalist SM Hayat Uddin in an attack by the miscreants is a cruel reflection of that conspiracy.
