, Aug. 26 -- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Wednesday announced a five-day programme to mark the party's 48th founding anniversary on September 1.

BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed announced the programme while briefing journalists after a joint meeting at the party's central office at Nayapaltan.

As part of the programme, BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will pay homage to party founder former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia at their graves at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar at 9:00am on September 1.

A discussion meeting will also be held where senior BNP leaders will address the gathering.

Besides, two more programmes will be organised at suitable times in September.
