Dhaka, May 28 -- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Thursday formally launched its Eid-ul-Azha waste removal operations by transporting sacrificial waste from the Kalabagan Secondary Transfer Station (STS) to the Matuail landfill, expressing hope of clearing the first day's waste within eight hours.

DSCC Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Md Abdus Salam inaugurated the operation and said the city corporation had taken all-out preparations to remove sacrificial waste within the stipulated timeframe.

"Following the inauguration of the waste removal activities, we expect that all sacrificial waste generated on the first day of Eid will be transported to the landfill within the next eight hours," he said.
