BIMSTEC SG meets Myanmar leaders, discusses regional security cooperation
Dhaka, June 28 -- BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandey visited Myanmar and discussed progress in regional security cooperation under BIMSTEC to address the transnational security challenges facing the member states.
The two sides reviewed progress in regional security cooperation since the 4th BIMSTEC National Security Advisers' Meeting, hosted by Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw in July 2024, and preparations for the 5th meeting, which will be hosted by India.
The meeting is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on July 16.
They also welcomed the opportunity provided by the forthcoming inaugural BIMSTEC Home Ministers' Meeting to review and expand regional security cooperation under BIMSTEC.
