Lalmonirhat, July 11 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday said it thwarted an alleged attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push three women into Bangladesh through the Patgram border in Lalmonirhat district.

The incident took place at dawn in the area adjacent to International Border Pillar 833/9-S under the Dhabalsuti Border Outpost (BOP) of the Teesta Battalion (61 BGB).

According to BGB, members of the Kharkharia Camp of the 98 Battalion BSF allegedly tried to send the three women into Bangladesh through a gate in the barbed-wire fence on the Indian side of the border.
