Sangsad Bhaban, June 30 -- The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the consumer-level price of furnace oil (HFO) to Tk 109.10 per litre from Tk 113.54 per litre, with the revised rate taking effect from July 1.

The energy regulator announced the decision in a press release on Tuesday, saying the price adjustment was made following a review of international fuel prices and movements in the exchange rate.

According to BERC, the revision was made under the provisions of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, after considering proposals submitted by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and the country's state-owned oil marketing companies.
